Choosing the right gear in Derelict can mean the difference between victory and repeated deaths. This tier list ranks weapons, spells, and armor based on damage output, scaling, accessibility, and endgame viability.

B Tier — Situational
Steel Dagger, Plasteel Bow, Shadowsilver Bow, Oak Short Bow — viable mid-game but outclassed later.
C-D Tier — Avoid Unless Necessary
Bronze Dagger, Iron Dagger, Pine Short Bow — starter weapons only. Replace as soon as possible.
Spell Tier List
Spells require an Ancient Arts Scroll and consume your Souls bar. Equip spells at any Bonsai station.
S Tier Spells
- Solar Link — High damage, links to Solar Tome builds
- Lunar Might — Powerful buff, Lunar Tome synergy
- Frosthowl — AoE frost damage + Frostbite (Frosthorn rapier art)
- Soul Vortex — Large AoE, excellent crowd control
- Crystal Eruption — Burst damage for boss fights
A Tier Spells
- Crashing Embers — Fire damage over time
- Winter's Grace — Defensive frost buff
- Overcharge — Single-target burst
- Entrapping Vortex — Pulls and traps enemies
B-C Tier
Early elemental spells and basic projectile spells work for mob clearing but fall off in boss encounters. Upgrade to S-tier spells once you reach Veiled Cathedral and craft Solar/Lunar Tomes.
Armor Tier List
S Tier Armor
- Aureatus Set — Best endgame armor, crafted via Solar Altar with Aureus Bars
- Cerise Set — Excellent mid-to-late game balance of defense and weight
- Crimson Set — High defense, good for tank builds
A Tier Armor
- Plasteel Set — Solid mid-game transition armor
- Shadowsilver Set — Good for agility-focused builds
- Rogue Set — Sold by Gideon, best early-game grinding set
B Tier
Steel Set, Iron Set — use during Mining 15 / Crafting 12 progression phase.
C Tier
Bronze Set, Pale Leather armor — starter only. Replace immediately after Gideon's tutorial quests.
Tier Criteria
Our tier rankings evaluate gear across five factors:
- Damage / Defense Output — Raw Power, Arcane, and armor values
- Scaling — How well stats grow with Strength, Sorcery, Archery levels
- Accessibility — How early you can obtain and equip the item
- Weapon Art / Ability — Utility and damage of special skills
- Endgame Viability — Performance against late-game bosses
